ISOLA is a triangle of earth between the Rivers Adda and Brembo. It is here that the project of public art, A FIDO I wish you were here, has developed. The theme of A FIDO is foster care, a legislative tool that temporarily allows minors to leave their family of origin who are living through a period of difficulty.
The emotions involved in foster care include choices of unconditional love, the pain of feeling inadequate, the difficulty of separation, a deaf violence towards defenceless people, the sensation of feeling better, the pleasure of relieving personal wounds and those of others, a sensitivity in facing the difficulties involved, a desire of belonging, and loss.
In this scenario Laura Morelli asks the people involved to give a symbolic object "in fosterage". Objects that have an intimate bond with their own experience. The public art installation is the peak of this path, which closes at the end of the exhibition with the re-consignment of the objects, concluding a personal "path of foster care". The project involves children in foster care, families of origin, foster families, social services, and judges, as well as institutions, associations, single citizens and professionals that all live or work at Isola.
